System Administrator for the Department of Education in Nynäshamn

Job Responsibilities

You will be responsible for managing and developing the various IT systems, operational systems, and digital tools of the Department of Education. This includes planning and implementing upgrades as well as changes and improvements to these systems. As a system administrator, you will work closely with the operations as a sounding board, providing support and problem-solving of various kinds. You will support all operations within the Department of Education as well as to some extent Nynäshamn's upper secondary school.

You will participate in various projects as an IT expert. You are the sole person in your role within the department.

About the Workplace

The primary task of the Department of Education is to provide a safe and stimulating learning environment where we prepare children and young people for the future. We also work to promote access to cultural and recreational activities for all residents.

You will be part of the Quality and Development department, which is tasked with supporting and contributing to the development of all the department's operations. Within the department, there is the Authority Team, which ensures lawful and efficient handling of political decisions and is responsible for areas such as school transportation, case management, investigations, local issues, system management, digital development, and operational follow-up.

What We Are Looking for in You

To succeed in this role, you have:

  • education in computer science or other education that the employer assesses as equivalent
  • experience in system administration in operational systems
  • knowledge of information security and GDPR
  • good skills in expressing yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish

It is an advantage if you have:

  • experience from municipal operations
  • experience working as a system administrator
  • experience working on larger projects
  • previously worked in a corresponding department of education including various school forms
  • previously worked with student registers or learning platforms

You are meticulous and used to planning, organizing, and prioritizing your work effectively. The position involves many different contact points, which places high demands on good communication and collaboration skills. You understand your role as a knowledge support to others and have a good pedagogical ability, can empathize with the recipient's situation, and adapt your way of conveying knowledge.
